Pro tip: Usually, the heroes in a reverse harem novel already know each other. They may be friends, bandmates, soldiers in the same unit, or part of a tribe or pack. This makes it much easier for you to set up the story and move onto the meatier parts of the book.
In other books, the heroine acquires the guys one-by-one, or a combination thereof. In my Briarwood Witches series, Maeve meets four of her five men when she first arrives at Briarwood Castle, and theyâve already forged a deep friendship. The fifth guy, Blake, is a witch raised by the fae who follows Maeve back from the fae realm. His trickster ways and the fact that he was raised fae means the other guys distrust him. Even though Maeve accepts him into the coven, it takes the others time to befriend him.
